Como parte de la primera edición nacional de la International Illustration Exhibition (IIE), GSM presenta una selección de ilustradorxs mexicanxs en la sección internacional, destacando la diversidad y potencia de la ilustración contemporánea en México en un contexto global y abriendo nuevas posibilidades de circulación.

As part of the first national edition of the International Illustration Exhibition (IIE), GSM presents a selection of Mexican illustrators in the international section, highlighting the diversity and strength of contemporary illustration in Mexico in a global context and opening new possibilities for circulation.
GSM feat. María Luque 2026
CDMX
Durante dos días, María Luque tuvo su espacio de trabajo abierto al público dentro de GSM en LAGUNA, concebido como un lugar vivo de producción. El lugar pudo recorrerse junto a una selección de obra y productos disponibles únicamente en GSM. La activación se complementó con un taller de desplegables y una charla en torno a la IA.

Over two days, María Luque had her own open studio within GSM at LAGUNA, conceived as a live working space. Visitors could experience the space alongside a selection of artworks and products available exclusively through GSM. The activation also included a pop-up workshop on fold-outs and a talk around AI.
GSM—Oaxaca 2026
Oaxaca, México
La edición Oaxaca de la feria tuvo lugar a inicios de abril en Kiyo Café, un espacio en el centro de la ciudad con una fuerte conexión con la cultura local. Fue la primera edición en México fuera de CDMX. Exhibimos el trabajo de ilustradorxs mexicanxs junto a obra y objetos en distintos formatos y compartimos un desayuno con ilustradorxs locales.

The Oaxaca edition of the Fair took place in early April at Kiyo Café, a space in the city center closely tied to local culture. It marked the first edition in Mexico outside of Mexico City. We exhibited the work of Mexican illustrators alongside artworks and objects in multiple formats.

Por tercera vez consecutiva, GSM formó parte de la semana del arte que se lleva a cabo cada febrero en la CDMX. Presentamos el trabajo de Alan Berry Rhys por primera vez en México como solo show dentro de LAGUNA y tuvimos la asistencia de más de 16mil personas.

For the third consecutive year, GSM was part of Art Week CDMX which takes place every February. We presented Alan Berry Rhys‘ work for the first time in Mexico as a solo show within LAGUNA and had the attendance of more than 16-thousand people.
GSM @ MICBR 2025

GSM formó parte de MICBR (Mercado das Indústrias Criativas do Brasil), un espacio clave para el encuentro entre agentes culturales de la región. Participar permitió abrir nuevas posibilidades de colaboración entre países, generar trabajo y seguir tejiendo cultura.

GSM was part of MICBR (Brazil’s Creative Industries Market), a key platform for bringing together cultural agents from across the region. Being part of it opened new possibilities for international collaboration, generated work opportunities, and continued to build cultural exchange.

La 12ª edición se llevó a cabo en LAGUNA, espacio multidisciplinario ubicado en una antigua fábrica textil. Junto a la expo y venta tuvimos dos invitadxs internacionales: uno desde Uruguay y otra desde Argentina, quienes estuvieron a cargo de las diferentes actividades educativas dentro de la feria.

The 12th edition was held at LAGUNA, a multidisciplinary space located in an old textile factory. Along with the expo and sale we had two international guests: one from Uruguay and one from Argentina who were in charge of the different educational activities inside the fair.
Communication Arts Illustration Competition 2025

Maru Aguzzi, directora de GSM, fue convocada por Communication Arts, revista con base en California, USA, pionera en mostrar el mundo creativo en sus diferentes áreas, para ser parte del jurado del premio anual de ilustración.

Maru Aguzzi, director of GSM, was invited by Communication Arts, a magazine based in California, USA, pioneer in showing the creative world in its different areas, to be part of the Jury for the annual Illustration Competition.

Por segunda vez consecutiva, GSM formó parte de la semana del arte que se lleva a cabo cada febrero en la CDMX. Presentamos el trabajo de Rocca Luis César como solo show dentro de LAGUNA y tuvimos la asistencia de unas 16mil personas.

Fuimos parte de la primera edición del Premio Portafolio de Bolonia, un reconocimiento instituido por BCBF para reconocer el portafolio como herramienta clave de la profesión de ilustrador, indispensable para acceder a nuevas oportunidades laborales y principal vehículo de comunicación entre el ilustrador y sus clientes.

We were part of the first edition of the Bologna Portfolio Award, an accolade instituted by BCBF to recognize the portfolio as a key tool of the illustrator profession, essential to access new job opportunities and the main vehicle of communication between the illustrator and his clients.

GSM colabora de manera continua con FILustra y el Programa para Ilustradores dentro de FIL Guadalajara. A lo largo de los años, hemos participado en mesas sobre ilustración mexicana, realizado revisiones de portafolios y desarrollado distintas actividades educativas.

GSM maintains an ongoing collaboration with FILustra and the Illustration Program within FIL Guadalajara. Over the years, we have taken part in panels on Mexican illustration, conducted portfolio reviews, and developed a range of educational activities.

La 11ª edición se llevó a cabo en LAGUNA, espacio multidisciplinario ubicado en una antigua fábrica textil. Junto a la expo y venta tuvimos tres invitadas internacionales desde Argentina y Euskadi quienes estuvieron a cargo de las diferentes actividades educativas sin costo.

The 11th edition was held at LAGUNA, a multidisciplinary space located in an old textile factory. Along with the expo and sale we had three international guests from Argentina and Euskadi who were in charge of the different educational activities free of charge for the audience.
V&A Illustration Awards 2024

Maru Aguzzi, directora de GSM, fue convocada por el Museo V&A de Londres para ser parte del jurado de los premios a la ilustración que convoca la institución desde 1972. El resultado se exhibe durante un año en las instalaciones.

Maru Aguzzi, Director of GSM, was invited by the V&A Museum in London to be part of the jury for the Illustration Awards that the institution has been holding since 1972. The result is on display for a year at the museum.

The World
La educación es un pilar fundamental y generar o participar en charlas sobre ilustración y su profesionalización es una tarea muy importante para GSM. Participamos en diferentes actividades educativas: desde charlas y talleres hasta revisiones de portafolios o clases universitarias. Esto lo hacemos a nivel nacional e internacional, en español o inglés.

Education is a fundamental pillar, and generating or participating in talks about illustration and its professionalization is a very important task. We participate in different educational activities: from talks and workshops to portfolio reviews or university classes. We do this nationally and internationally, in Spanish or English.

La cuarta edición internacional de la feria tuvo lugar los primeros días de abril en SEGUNDA, galería-librería ubicada en Bilbao. Exhibimos el trabajo de ilustradorxs selectxs junto a objetos ilustrados.

The fourth international edition of the Fair took place the first days of April at SEGUNDA, a gallery-publishing house located in Bilbao. We exhibited the work of selected illustrators together with some illustrated objects.

Siendo el Decenio Internacional de las Lenguas Indígenas del Mundo (2022-2032), fuimos elegidos por Gwrando (evento que se dedica a escuchar estas voces) para presentar el trabajo ilustrado que conforma 68 voces, 68 corazones, proyecto que representa las 68 lenguas indígenas que existen en México.

Being the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032), we were chosen by Gwrando (an event dedicated to listening to these voices) to present the illustrated work that makes up 68 Voices, 68 Hearts, a project that represents the 68 indigenous languages that exist in Mexico.

Por primera vez, GSM formó parte de la semana del arte que se lleva a cabo cada febrero en la CDMX. Presentamos el trabajo de Hola Lou como solo show y tuvimos la asistencia de unas 7mil personas.

For the first time, GSM was part of the Art Week event that takes place every February in Mexico City. We presented a solo show by Hola Lou and had about 7thousand people attend.

GSM Collab Illustratie Ambassade 2023

Colaboramos con la agencia Illustratie Ambassade gestionando el trabajo de Jimena Estíbaliz y Alejandro Magallanes en la elaboración de dos afiches para el emblemático Paradiso, en Amsterdam. Cada unx eligió el concierto al que le hubiera gustado asistir y el resultado se pudo ver en la fachada del venue.

We collaborated with the Illustratie Ambassade agency managing the work of Jimena Estíbaliz and Alejandro Magallanes in the production of two posters for the emblematic Paradiso, Amsterdam. Each one chose the concert they would have liked to attend and the result could be seen on the façade of the venue.
GSM @ Nîmes S'illustre 2022

Hicimos la curaduría de la expo Bioluminisencia mexicana para ser presentada dentro del Festival Nîmes S’illustre en su 2da edición. Elegimos a seis ilustradoras y su trabajo estuvo exhibido durante el festival en l’Hôtel Dieu. El concepto de montaje estuvo a cargo de Atelier 1:1.

We curated the Mexican Bioluminisence expo to be presented within the Nîmes S’illustre Festival in its 2nd edition. We chose six female illustrators and their work was exhibited during the festival at l’Hôtel Dieu. The assembly concept was in charge of Atelier 1:1.

Dos ediciones especiales. En el 2020 decidimos abrir al público con cupo muy limitado y nos volcamos a los eventos online, un gran éxito que pudo recibir gente de todo el país y el mundo. En el 2021 las puertas se abrieron casi normalmente.

Two special editions. In 2020 we decided to open to the public with very limited capacity and we turned to online events, a great success that people from all over the country and the world could receive. In 2021 the doors opened almost normally.
GSM + Agenda 2030
itinerancia / exhibition tour
La serie de afiches sobre los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible se presentó en el CCEMx en conjunto con la ONU México. Reunimos a 17 ilustradorxs iberoamericanxs para interpretar, desde la gráfica, cada uno de los objetivos a través de un lenguaje cercano y diverso. Esta expo está itinerando internacionalmente a través del Instituto Cervantes.

The series of posters on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals was presented at CCEMx in collaboration with UN Mexico. We brought together 17 Ibero-American illustrators to visually interpret each goal through a diverse and accessible graphic language. The exhibition is currently touring internationally through Instituto Cervantes.
GSM—Paris 2021

La tercera edición internacional de la feria tuvo lugar del 10 de septiembre al 26 de octubre en el Institute Culturel du Mexique. Exhibimos el trabajo de más de 40 ilustradorxs, tuvimos visitas con universidades, charlas e intercambio cultural con agentes locales.

The third international edition of the Fair took place from September 10 to October 26 at the Institute Culturel du Mexique. Cuando nos invitaron a ser parte del Festival LUSTR, curamos una exposición centrada en el trabajo de ocho ilustradoras mexicanas para visibilizar el poder de su trabajo y como parte de lo que está sucediendo en la ilustración contemporánea en México hoy.

Being invited to be part of LUSTR Festival, we curated an exhibition focusing on the work of eight female Mexican illustrators to showcase the power of their work, and as a portion of what’s happening in contemporary illustration in Mexico today.

En 2019 estuvimos invitados al Premio de ilustración que presenta anualmente el Gobierno local ya que incluyeron un premio de pieza única. Llevamos una pequeña expo representando a México y dimos una charla. En 2021 co-curamos una expo sobre relato gráfico presentada en el Festival e’a!

Justo antes de la pandemia nuestra feria recibió la mayor cantidad de asistentes hasta el momento. Junto a la expo y venta de obra, nuestra invitada internacional fue Flavita Banana, viñetista española que revolucionó al público con su charla, taller y firma de libros.

Just before the pandemic, our Fair had the largest amount of attendants so far. Along with the exhibition and sale of illustration, our international guest was Flavita Banana, a Spanish cartoonist who revolutionized the audience with her talk, workshop, and book signing.

XIX concurso A la Orilla del Viento

Como directora de GSM, Maru Aguzzi formó parte del jurado del Concurso de álbum ilustrado A la Orilla del Viento, organizado por el Fondo de Cultura Económica, uno de los reconocimientos más importantes para el libro álbum en Iberoamérica, dedicado a impulsar nuevas voces en la narración visual.

Nuestra primera edición internacional tuvo lugar en Cardiff y luego en Londres. Ambas ediciones fueron acompañadas por charlas en universidades y visitas profesionales con diferentes agentes culturales locales.

GSM tuvo su primera edición en el 2014 y, hasta el 2018, cada año fue cambiando la sede de la feria. Desde el Centro de Cultura Digital, hasta espacios privados y el Museo Tamayo. Varias ediciones estuvieron apoyadas por el Fondo para la Cultura y las Artes.
