Every year at our fair we have an international guest who joins the activities and local talent that we present in each edition. In the sixth edition of GSM the guest was Flavita Banana, a Spanish illustrator and cartoonist known for talking about uncomfortable and necessary topics.

In talks with the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico prior to her arrival, the idea arose of making a mural about women in the Center’s media library area and that its executor was Flavita.

This is how we spent a whole day with the artist, while she thought, sketched and painted the mural where women of all shapes and sizes, holding hands, accompanied the phrase we all want to be together to close the mural.

The boldness that Flavita’s strokes have together with the image and message it illustrated were kept for longer than expected by the force it added to the space.

This mural was possible thanks to the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) through its Program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture (PICE) in the Mobility modality, and the CCEMx.
